Enterprise Universal Accessibility Policy
1. Universal Inclusion Mission
Nexly.biz (the “Company”) is founded on the principle that digital opportunity should be frictionless for everyone. We believe accessibility is not a "checkbox" but a fundamental human right. Our mission is to engineer a learning environment that proactively eliminates digital barriers and empowers every individual, regardless of physiological or cognitive ability.
This Master Accessibility Policy serves as our operational blueprint for universal design across the entire Nexly ecosystem.
2. Standards & Conformance
Nexly targets the highest tiers of international digital inclusion standards. Our architectural roadmap is benchmarked against:
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA: The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, ensuring our interface is Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust.
- EN 301 549: The European standard for accessibility requirements for ICT products and services.
- Section 508 & ADA: Alignment with the U.S. Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act Titles II & III.
3. Scope of Application
Our commitment to accessibility encompasses every digital touchpoint within the Company’s control, including:
- The Nexly.biz core application and marketplace.
- Mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms.
- Electronic documents (PDFs, PPTs) and educational course materials.
- Third-party integrations and embedded content nodes.
4. Multimedia Protocols
Audio-visual content must be ingestible by all senses. We mandate:
Alternative Media Standards
- Closed Captioning: 100% of recorded video course content must include synchronized high-accuracy captions.
- Audio Descriptions: Providing equivalent descriptive audio for visual-heavy video modules.
- Transcripts: Supply of text-based transcripts for all primary audio and video assets.
6. Assistive Technology Support
Nexly engineering regularly tests for compatibility with industry-standard assistive technologies, including but not limited to:
- Screen Readers: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.
- Magnification Software: ZoomText and system-level magnifiers.
- Input Hardware: Switches, head trackers, and sip-and-puff systems.
7. Continuous Verification Audits
Compliance is a living process. Our governance includes:
- Automated Scanning: Weekly automated integrity checks across the production codebase.
- Manual Expert Review: Quarterly forensic audits by certified accessibility professionals (IAAP).
- Usability Testing: Ongoing testing sessions with users who have lived experience with disabilities.
8. Remediation Roadmap
If a barrier is identified, Nexly commits to a prioritized remediation timeline:
- Critical (Level 1): Barriers preventing core user tasks (e.g., login, payment) will be triaged within 5 business days.
- High (Level 2): Significant barriers impacting user experience will be addressed in the subsequent development cycle.
9. Workforce Training
Every Nexly employee is an advocate for inclusion. We provide mandatory annual training for:
- Engineers: Advanced ARIA and semantic coding.
- Content Creators: Alt-text generation and readable document structuring.
- Customer Support: Inclusive communication and assistive tech troubleshooting.
10. Grievance & Feedback Protocol
We recognize that technology changes faster than standards. If you encounter a barrier, your feedback is instrumental in our remediation efforts.
Reports submitted via our barrier portal are entered into our internal tracking registry and reviewed by the Inclusion Lead within 48 hours.
11. Individual Accommodations
Where digital remediation is technically impossible within a required timeframe, Nexly provides "Reasonable Accommodations" upon request. This may include manual assistance, alternative format delivery, or telephone-based navigation support.
